beautiful cave and to a wonderful land-owner and caver Mr. Lonnie Carr

the path from the new entrance. This should be one of the final
Workdays as the trail is almost finished. There will be other Workdays

The December Grotto meeting will be held on Thursday, December 7 at the Adventure Science Center at 7pm.

The program for December will be the elections of new officers and the annual grotto auction.

Please bring anything you wish to donate for the auction to the meeting. All proceeds from the auction go towards the Nashville Grotto. It doesn't have to be caving related, but it should be something you think someone would be interested in bidding on.

From TAG-NET:

The SKTF will be holding it's next cleanup on Saturday December 9th, during the Cumberland Caverns Christmas Party. We will be cleaning an old trash filled sink near Campaign TN. The land owner has a small cave nearby which we are welcome to visit.

Of course no one knows what is under that trash........ (sorry, Jeff)

We will be operating our vertical lift system to remove the appliances and heavy stuff. Since Warren County has had such good experience with cavers and the SKTF during Rocky River, a phone call was all that was needed to secure a dumpster.

Start: 5:00 pm
End: 10:16 pm

The annual Cumberland Caverns Christmas Party will be Saturday, December 9. If you are already on their mailing list, they will send you an application form for tickets.

If you are not on their mailing list, but would like to come, contact them at: info [at] cumberlandcaverns [dot] com

Reservations ARE required.

Some of the local Grottos usually lead cave trips in the area during the day, there are vendors set up in the parking lot, and there is a great party in the cave from about 6-10, including banquet and live Christmas music. This is a family-oriented, non-alcoholic party, just for the record.

Kristen Bobo and Joe Douglas will be leading a trip to a large horizontal cave in Fentress County on Saturday December 16. We plan to go to Zarathustra Cave, but if it rains a lot and river levels are high we will likely go to Buffalo Cave as a back-up.

The first meeting place is the I-40/Lebanon Shoneys Rest. at 8 AM (exit 238). The second meeting place is the park and ride at the I-40/highway 111 exit in cookeville (exit 288, then left) at c.
