Events
The January grotto meeting will be held on Thursday, January 3 at the Adventure Science Center starting at 7pm.
Update: The January Program includes both the voting on the winners of the 2007 Grotto Photo Salon and a presentation by Dr. William Halliday on pseudokarst.
John Law and James Wood will lead a trip to this horizontal cave, located in Davidson County after work on Wednesday,January 16. This cave requires more crawling than Hardins Cave but is a great cave located in our own backyard. The meeting time and place is 6 p.m. at the Shoney’s at I-24 and Bell Road (Hickory Hollow area).
The January Executive meeting will be held on January 17, 2008 at 7pm at the home of Owen Walker in the Crieve Hall area of Nashville. The Executive Meeting is open to all grotto members and usually involves setting up trips for the upcoming month and other grotto business,
along with good food and drink.
Note: The Crawlathon website states that "The 2008 Crawlathon Information Will Be Posted Around December 15."
This will be the 27th annual CARTER CAVES CRAWLATHON. It is a much anticipated event among the hardy individualists who attend it loyally. It is somewhat unique among "caving" events in that it provides beneficial activities for anyone interested in caves and caving without regard to their level of expertise. Some who attend have never "caved" before- others may be among the best known cavers in the country. Anyone interested in caves or caving will find something they can do. Cave trips and instructional programs during the event are led by experienced guides who know a great deal about the sport of CAVING.
