We have a reservation for July 1 for Shelter # 10 at Edwin Warner Park. The shelter is located off Vaughns Road and is South of Old Hickory Blvd. between Hwy 100 and Hillsboro Road.

There is no acohol allowed on Park property. If someone is interested in grilling out, they will want to bring the appropriate stuff. I don't believe we can build a fire on the ground. My suggestion is to bring something already to eat. We may want to start a list of what people are planning to bring so we don't end up with 20 bags of potato chips and nothing else, or worse, only cookies to eat;)

On Friday July 18, Dave Wascher and Joe Stewart will be leading a trip to Parachute Cave in western Davidson County. If there is time we may make a side trip to Brenmark Cave too. We will meet behind Brewhouse West at 7108 Charlotte Pike at 6:00pm. Since we'll be at the Brewhouse after the trip it will be a good place to have a bite to eat too.

We'll be going on a weeknight trip for July to Hardins Cave in Davidson county on Wednesday, July 23. This is an easy, horizontal cave and is suitable for cavers of all ability levels.

You will need a helmet, 3 sources of light, boots with lugged soles and good ankle support, gloves, knee pads, and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and torn. The grotto can loan you a helmet if you notify the trip leader in advance.
