The December Executive meeting will be held on FRIDAY, December 5 (note different night) at 7pm at the home of Mark Hobbs. This will be a combination holiday party and business meeting. We will also have a "white elephant" gift swap. Bring a gift of around $10 value to swap. The Executive Meeting is open to all grotto members and usually involves setting up trips for the upcoming month and other grotto business, along with good food and drink. We will also be planning for the 2009 SERA Cave Carnival.

Horizontal Weeknight Trip - Hardins Cave - November 19

We'll be going on a weeknight trip for November to Hardins Cave in Davidson county on Wednesday, November 19. This is an easy, horizontal cave and is suitable for cavers of all ability levels.

You will need a helmet, 3 sources of light, boots with lugged soles and good ankle support, gloves, knee pads, and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and torn. The grotto can loan you a helmet if you notify the trip leader in advance.

We will meet at the Waffle House on White Bridge Road and I40. We will leave the parking lot at 6:30pm and be at the cave by 7pm. We will exit the cave by 10:30pm at the latest. For more information or inquiries please contact Hatch.
